I've been down to Spurn for a couple of trips this week and the two days could hardly have been more contrasting.
On Thursday it was a glorious sunny day with very few birds about-the highlight being the turtle dove on wires outside the warren. vey few other birds about by recent standards.
All change yesterday with a moderate easterly wind and overcast conditions.
Birds were appearing all day with loads of chiff chaffs and goldcrests with the odd yellow browed warbler amongst them.
there were also hundreds of finches passing through including good numbers of brambling.
As the day went on more scarce birds were being reported such as great grey shrike and hawfinch.
Hopefully this weekend will live up to expectation!
